One of my favorite autumn treats is the caramel apple. It’s no secret that apples and caramel are a match made in heaven, and the toppings — sprinkles, Oreos, peanuts — are endless. But, as you can imagine, maintaining a suitable diet with a bacon blog can be a struggle, which is why I decided to make the switch from caramel apples to apple cookies!
October is National Pumpkin Month and from latte’s, bread, pie, and cupcakes there is no limit to the pumpkin craze. So why not join the bandwagon? Instead of sprinkling crumbled bacon on a pumpkin dessert, I did some bacon + pumpkin research and stumbled upon a bacon and pumpkin pasta from Punch of Yum.
I put my own spin on the recipe – just a few tweaks here and there – and found that pumpkin can be transformed into a delicious, savory dish! Don’t believe me? Give this easy-to-make pasta recipe a try and your tastebuds will thank me!
I’ve talked previously about the best game day appetizers, bacon wrapped smokies and bacon jalapeño poppers, but if you’re looking for something that’s more refreshing try these stuffed cucumber cups from Black and White Obsession. The cucumber cup is light with a sweet flavor, while the cream cheese and sour cream mixture tastes similar to a Green Goddess dressing that’s irresistible. To be honest, the cucumber and filling is delicious on it’s own, but the garnished bacon adds a tint of salty flavor that brings the appetizer together. These treats will go fast, so I recommend doubling the recipe if you’re hosting a large group!
I turn 28 today and it’s only appropriate to share my favorite ways to celebrate al la bacon! Surprising your family or friends with a party is always exciting and if they’re a bacon-lover I highly recommend surprising the birthday boy/girl with a bacon-themed party. Here are some ideas to kick off the festivities!
A lazy Sunday has never looked more delicious! I personally have a love affair with my snooze button, which means a late breakfast with family and friends is my idea of a celebration. PJ’s mandatory!
