Halloween is over, but pumpkin fever is still holding strong. My mouth is watering at the thought of delicious pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving! But before moving too far forward, I must acknowledge an unfulfilled promise that I made in October regarding a pumpkin seed recipe. I even posted a picture of fresh pumpkin seeds on Facebook to tease all of you. That was Oct. 14… tick tock…
I’ve talked previously about the best game day appetizers, bacon wrapped smokies and bacon jalapeño poppers, but if you’re looking for something that’s more refreshing try these stuffed cucumber cups from Black and White Obsession. The cucumber cup is light with a sweet flavor, while the cream cheese and sour cream mixture tastes similar to a Green Goddess dressing that’s irresistible. To be honest, the cucumber and filling is delicious on it’s own, but the garnished bacon adds a tint of salty flavor that brings the appetizer together. These treats will go fast, so I recommend doubling the recipe if you’re hosting a large group!
I just launched my Facebook page and I couldn’t be more excited to have almost 300 fans in just two weeks! Several other like-minded bloggers have also taken notice, and today I’m excited to share a recipe from Good Food 4 The Single Dude/Dudette. David Hodges, creator of the Facebook group, shared this Bacon Wrapped Smokies recipe with me and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try it! I’m always a sucker for anything sweet and salty and this recipe is right up my ally. It’s the perfect appetizer for tailgates, fall picnics, dinner with friends, or even wedding receptions! I hope you enjoy and you can find the original recipe on TastyKitchen.com. Continue reading
When football season rolls around Matt and I are known for throwing Broncos parties and to kick off the season we decided to make some delicious bacon jalapeño poppers! I think it would be an understatement to say everyone enjoyed them, especially since they were almost gone as soon as we took them out of the oven.
I do have to give credit to 101 Things to Do with Bacon for the recipe and it’s now one of my favorite cookbooks!
